The Remonstrant Church has both
members and friends.
From the age of 18 persons can be registered in a local congregation as
members of the Remonstrant Church after signing the statement of principle,
which may be preceded by the writing of a personal profession of faith.
In this they are helped and guided by the minister. One can also, upon
request, be entered in the register of friends.
Members are eligible for election to all posts within the Remonstrant Chrurch and have the right to vote in the members' general meetings.
Friends are eligible for election to most posts (apart from a number of representative posts). In many congregations they also have the right to vote in general meeting.
The work in the congregations and at national level is financed almost entirely by voluntary contributions. Guidelines based on a percentage of income apply to the above.
