ELPN

Chères Amies, Chers Amis.

Les chrétiens unitariens attachent une grande importance à l’existence et au bon fonctionnement de notre réseau ELPN. Nous y avons nos Eglises historiques de Roumanie et de Hongrie, auxquelles nous sommes très attachés. 
The Unitarian Christians tie a big importance to existence and to good functioning of our network ELPN. We have our historical Churches of Romania and Hungary there, to which we are very tied.

En plus, nous sommes convaincus que, dans le contexte actuel de la déchristianisation de l’Europe occidentale, nous devons promouvoir un christianisme moderne, ouvert aux connaissances scientifiques et faisant preuve de créativité. L’ELPN nous semble être le lieu idéal pour mener à bien cette réflexion. 
On top of that, we are persuaded that, in the present situation of the de-christianization of western Europe, we must promote a modern Christianity, opened to knowledge scientific and showing creativity. ELPN seems to us to be the ideal place to complete successfully this cogitation.

Réunis à Avignon ce mois d’août, les chrétiens unitariens britanniques, italiens et français (avec l’accord des chrétiens unitariens du Burundi et du Congo) ont publié un manifeste où ils apportent leur soutien total à l’ELPN. Vous trouverez ce texte en français sur le site Internet de l’Assemblée fraternelle des chrétiens unitariens (AFCU), des versions en italien et en anglais sont en cours de préparation. http://afcu.over-blog.org, rubrique “ le manifeste d’Avignon ”.
Having a meeting this August in Avignon, the British, Italian and French Unitarian Christians (with the agreement of the Unitarian Christians of Burundi and Congo) published a manifest where they bring their complete support to ELPN. You will find this text in French on the Internet site of the Fraternal Assembly of the Unitarian Christians (AFCU), http://afcu.over-blog.org, rubric “ le manifeste d’Avignon ”. Versions in Italian and in English are under way of preparation.

Dans ce même état d’esprit, l’AFCU, toujours sur son site, a ouvert une rubrique “ ELPN ” où vous pourrez trouver les dernières informations concernant notre réseau : le renforcement des relations entre la Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland (NSPCI) et l’Unitarian Christian Association (UCA) en juin, le manifeste d’Avignon (17 août), et l’annonce de la rencontre ELPN et IARF de Belfast pour les 24-27 juillet. Cette rubrique “ ELPN ” sur le site de l’AFCU permet de donner des informations nouvelles en attendant que le site de l’ELPN soit rénové et mis à jour. C’est donc une solution temporaire, un palliatif à défaut de mieux, mais qui peut nous dépanner. Nous pouvons y accueillir, très volontiers, des messages dans vos langues respectives. In the same frame of mind, AFCU, always on its site (http://afcu.over-blog.org), opened a rubric " ELPN " where you will be able to find the last information concerning our network : the strengthening of relations between Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland (NSPCI) and the Unitarian Christian Association (in June), the manifest of Avignon (August 17th), and the announcement of meeting ELPN and IARF of Belfast by July 24-27. This rubric " ELPN " on the site of AFCU allows to give new information until the site of ELPN is renovated and put in day. It is therefore a temporary resolution, a palliative for want of anything better, but that can help us. We can receive messages, very readily, in your respective languages there. Il reste une tâche très importante si nous voulons bien préparer notre rencontre de Belfast : la composition d’un bureau de l’ELPN. Ce bureau est nécessaire pour pouvoir prendre des décisions, bien préparer la rencontre de Belfast, mobiliser les énergies dans nos pays respectifs, et assurer un fonctionnement permanent de notre réseau. Dans ce but, une rencontre aux Pays-Bas, à l’initiative de nos amis Remonstrants serait souhaitable. 
There remains a very important task if we definitely want to prepare our meeting of Belfast: the composition of a board / office of ELPN. This board is necessary to be able to make decisions, definitely prepare the meeting of Belfast, mobilize energies in our respective countries, and assure a permanent functioning of our network. With that end in view a meeting in Netherlands, on the initiative of our friends Remonstrants would be desirable.

The Unitarian Christians of Great Britain (UCA), Italy (CICU), France (AFCU), Burundi (ACUB) and Congo (ACUC) bring their support of ELPN in a founder text, manifesto of Avignon, called " In order that Unitarianism preserves its position amongst Christians throughout the world ". This manifesto, in French version, was translated into Italian and English. You will find it on the site of the Assemblée fraternelle des chrétiens unitariens (AFCU) http://afcu.over-blog.org (open rubric : "le manifeste d’Avignon"). English version has just been published of September 20th.

On the same site, in rubric " ELPN ", you will find the recent news (in French) about ELPN: our homage to Peronne Boddaert, the partnership between Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland (NSPCI) and the Unitarian Christian Association (UCA), European ecumenical meeting of Sibiu, conference ELPN / IARF of Belfast, as well as a historical presentation of NSPCI, Remonstrant Brotherhood and UCA.

Finally, on the site of "Actualités unitariennes"  (http://actua.unitariennes.over-blog.com), we warn against an European network initiated by the reverend Moon, Raelian, and other sects: "European Network for Religious Tolerance and Nondiscrimination / Human Rights Without Frontier".

The main goal of the ELPN group is the promotion, in Europe, of an open Christianity, modern and none dogmatize. The text shall be translated in German, Dutch, Italian, Hungarian and Norwegian.
